Two New Swiss-type Automatic Lathes
August 1, 2017
Star CNC, a division of Star Micronics Co., Ltd. of Japan, will introduce the SR-32JII and SV-20R machines. Additional Star CNC machines will also be on display and demonstrations will be ongoing throughout the show.
The SR-32JII Type B Swiss-type automatic lathe features a modular design with slanted guideway to increase rigidity and improve accuracy for stable production. An eight station back working unit with Y-axis provides flexibility in overlapping machining requirements. Rigid machine construction enables continuous machining with high accuracy over extended periods of time. The SR-32JII is designed to work with or without a guide bushing, which is another option to further enhance versatility and flexibility while machining.
Also showcased will be the new SV-20R Swiss-type automatic lathe. The redesigned SV-20R features improved functions, built in B-axis for multiple tools and eight station tool block for overlapping of back operations. Two tool turning capability reduces production time and improves accuracies. With a large variety of tooling, rigid construction and enhanced flexibility, this machine has the capability to produce complex components in a single operation.
