MC Machinery Systems has announced the recent promotions of Michael Koch, Ryan Conroy and Nick Plourde.

Michael Koch

Micael Koch has been promoted to Senior Laser Applications Manager. Koch joined MC Machinery in 2011 as a waterjet installer. Since then, he has held positions in the installation, service and sales departments, primarily helping customers with specific applications, manufacturing issues and process improvements.

In his new role, Koch is responsible for overseeing the Mitsubishi Laser software and special projects teams as well as managing equipment demonstrations in MC Machinery's seven North American showrooms.

"Mike has been an integral part of our team for more than 10 years, handling increasing responsibilities and managerial duties with professionalism and excellence," said Shane Herendeen, Vice President of Sales, MC Machinery Systems Fabrication Division. "He is a tremendous asset to our valued customers and dealers."

Ryan Conroy

Ryan Conroy has been promoted to Laser Product Manager. Conroy joined MC Machinery as a wire EDM installation technician in 2013. He was promoted to EDM customer support engineer on the applications team in 2015. In 2021, he moved to the fabrication division as a laser applications specialist, primarily focusing on research and development of new laser products.

In his new role, Conroy will develop and implement product strategies for current and new fabrication equipment while working closely with the factory, suppliers, sales, service and marketing.

"Ryan has done an amazing job on performing research and development for new laser platforms, working well alongside the applications team and excelling at every task he has been challenged with," said Herendeen. "We are very excited to watch him grow as he takes on additional responsibilities and challenges."

Nick Plourde

Nick Plourde has been promoted to Fabrication Division Project Specialist. Plourde joined MC Machinery as a laser applications engineer in Toronto in 2019. With a background in audio engineering, he also has worked with MC Machinery's marketing team to develop product and case study videos.

In his new role, Plourde will continue to assist with marketing videos, along with collaborating on research and development and sales strategies for new software, 5-axis lasers and laser automation. MC Machinery launched its first 5-axis laser, the Mitsubishi FV fiber laser, at FABTECH 2023. This new high-performance laser features the fastest processing in Mitsubishi Electric's history.

"Nick has been a major part of our growth in Canada and success in the United States," said Herendeen. "He will now work even more closely with our sales team and factory on customer-focused software, automation and multi-axis laser solutions."
