The Milltronics TRM3016 is a 3-axis tool room mill with XYZ travels of 30" x 16" x 20", a table working surface of 35.4" x 16" and a maximum table weight of 992 lbs. To help accommodate oversize parts, the TRM3016 has "drop down" door openings that allow long parts to pass through-a unique feature of the TRM Series.
In addition to its large travels, this machine is designed for speed and power. It comes with a BIG-PLUS ISO No. 40 spindle with 8,000 RPM and has a rapid traverse rate of 700 IPM. Solid box way construction aids in the mill's rigidity.
The TRM3016 is fitted with the new Milltronics control, the INSPIRE v11, that has 4x more memory (4 GB to 16 GB), 4x more GPU clock (.3 GHz to 1.2 GHz) and 20x more GPU memory (.1 GB to 2 GB), enabling faster processing and better graphics.
One of INSPIRE v11's key features is MotionBoss, a patented curvature-controlled smoothing system that increases machine performance, shortens cycle times and improves surface finish all while maintaining control over part accuracy. The improved surface finish is achieved through the MotionBoss software, which controls the motion of the machine rather than the standard method of the hardware controlling the machine's motion. The efficiency of MotionBoss leads to less chatter, vibration and machine jerk. MotionBoss decreases cycle times because it does not stop between two rapids. Its lookahead capabilities evaluate what is coming up in the program and optimizes its velocity and acceleration through corners.
The new control also features remote capabilities, including Shop View, which allows customers to remotely access their machine from anywhere to view diagnostics and real-time monitoring. INSPIRE v11 also supports MTConnect and has remote support with interactive troubleshooting, remote PC access, and augmented reality to help fix the issue and get back to making parts.
INSPIRE v11 still provides a familiar user experience with a similar interface to Milltronics's previous control, the 9000-DGI.
