Access Manufacturing Systems to Feature CAMWorks

CAMWorks Virtual Machine module with true G-code simulation helps create first-time-right NC programs for complex multi-axis machines.

Access Manufacturing Systems will be featuring the latest version of the solid-based CNC programming solution CAMWorks, a fully integrated CAM product within SolidWorks.

"A key addition to the CAMWorks product is true G-code machine simulation," said a company spokesperson. "The standard machine simulation technology typically simulates based on CL data only. The CAMWorks Virtual Machine Module goes beyond 'look good' simulation and provides a true G-code based machine simulation. CAMWorks Virtual Machine allows users to create first-time-right NC programs for complex multi-axis machines and to design, create NC programs and simulate post processed G-code seamlessly within one system - saving shop floor time and improving throughput.

"With the CAMWorks 2014 release, users will benefit from key enhancements to the sub-spindle operations for the complex multi-tasking machines that speed up the programming time. In addition, the turn feature creation process has improved intelligence build into it along with enhanced control for canned cycles for turning. The enhanced simulation capability now allows the use of work-in-process models and has the ability to view tool vectors to make it easier to review the toolpaths. There have also been additions made to the API suite for strengthening automation with the addition of 32 new APIs. Some key APIs include the ability to automate generation of setup sheets, interpret PMI data, manage configurations and manage stocks in assembly."

Access will also be featuring the new app from CAMWorks, the CAMWorks View App for iOS devices. This free app allows the user to view, review and annotate 3D work in progress (WIP) models, tool paths and relevant operation data from the shop floor to the design room without the need for an additional CAMWorks license. CAMWorks View is a 3D CAM data viewer for iPad, iPhone and iPod. A desktop version of the same app is also available.

Access Manufacturing Systems, Inc. exclusively provides CAMWorks software support and services to manufacturing companies throughout the United States.
