Long-Stroke Gripper for Collaborative Applications

The SCHUNK Co-act EGL-C long-stroke gripper, developed for collaborative operation, achieves high gripping forces up to 450 N and a long stroke of 42.5 mm per finger. The gripping force of the DGUV-certified SCHUNK grippers was previously limited to 140 N.

The intelligent 24 V solution handles workpiece weights of up to 2.25 kg and can be flexibly used in a wide range of applications, including automotive supply industry and machine building.

Force measuring jaws and incremental encoders integrated in the base jaws continuously monitor the gripping force as well as the position of the gripper fingers. When the workpiece distance is < 4 mm, the fingers close with the freely definable maximum force of up to 450 N.

The SCHUNK Co-act EGL-C series comes completely pre-assembled and is available with corresponding interfaces for HRC robots, including those from KUKA, YASKAWA, FANUC, Universal Robots and NACHI, enabling fast and simple commissioning. LED lights in traffic light colors indicate the current status of the module.

Product features and benefits:

  • High maximum gripping force of up to 450 N
  • Long stroke up to 42.5 mm per gripper finger
  • Handling of workpieces up to 2.25 kg
  • Fully integrated control and power electronics
  • Control via PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP or Modbus/TCP
  • Easy, fast commissioning via Plug & Work
  • For HRC applications with load ranges up to 2.25 kg
  • Can also be used on the move with 24V DC operating voltage.
