Mayfield High School's Learn and Earn program took an exciting step beyond the classroom as students visited The HEH Group's cutting-edge facilities in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. The visit encompassed two prominent divisions, Ultra Tech and Motch & Eichele, providing students with a firsthand look into the worlds of machines, automation and spindle repair.

At Ultra Tech, students delved into the heart of innovation, witnessing ongoing projects in design and production, with a particular emphasis on robotics. Interacting with seasoned employees, the students gained valuable insights into:

  • The collaborative process of engaging with customers to understand project objectives and engineer effective solutions.
  • Immersive experiences with various automation projects, learning functions and key takeaways.
  • Observation of large-scale production projects and custom machines in progress.

Motch & Eichele showcased its machining technology knowledge, introducing students to machines like Mazak and Takamaz. In a special tour led by John Johnson from Advanced Spindle Technology, students received an in-depth overview of the spindle repair process.

The Learn and Earn program at Mayfield High School is designed to empower junior and senior students by combining traditional classroom education with real-world work experience. This holistic approach ensures that participants not only meet academic requirements for graduation but also cultivate essential knowledge, skills and self-confidence for success in higher education, the workplace and life.

"The HEH Group is proud to contribute to the educational and professional development of the next generation through initiatives like the Mayfield High School Learn and Earn program," said a spokesperson. "This collaborative effort aims to inspire students to pursue their passions, broaden their horizons and prepare for a future filled with opportunities."
