Specialty Cylindrical Grinding Machine

Hardinge Inc. has released its newest specialty cylindrical grinding machine, the Usach 75.

The Usach 75 CNC specialty cylindrical grinder is designed to deliver accuracy and power in a compact design for all production and/or universal small precision parts manufacturing where I.D.s, O.D.s and faces need grinding. According to the company, this new model is flexible in handling a wide variety of workpieces for both job shops and high-production applications, especially where high precision is required.

The machine features an 8.5" swing diameter and handles parts up to 5" in length. The Usach 75 can be configured with either one or two grinding spindles for maximum production capabilities. Other features include:

  • High, dynamic axes speeds with high accuracy and short traveling distances between parts and dressing position allow increased productivity.
  • Optimized ergonomics for ease of set-up and maintenance and for manual loading and unloading.
  • Machine base made from Harcrete for improved dynamic stability for high precision tolerances and fine surface finishes.
  • Longitudinal slide (Z-axis) fully protected, on monorail style linear guideways with rollers, accommodating the X-axis. Cross slide (X-axis) fully protected, on monorail style linear guideways with rollers, accommodating the grinding spindle. Both slides are driven by AC servo motors and ballscrews.
  • Low pressure air purge system and labyrinth seal incorporated to keep coolant contamination out of the spindle bearings.
  • Available with either a FANUC 32i or Mitsubishi M70V control.
  • Available with a fully integrated automation and parts handling system.
