Cylindrical Multiprocess Grinding Machine

DMG MORI offers its the MGX 30/100, a cylindrical multiprocess grinding machine.

It offers a swing diameter of 300 mm, and distance between centers is 1,000 mm. The table supports workpieces weighing up to 150 kg, and the grinding wheel measures up to 510 mm. It features output power of 7.5 kW, a maximum peripheral wheel speed of 2,700 m/min and a direct-drive type indexing table that enables continuous indexing at 0.0001° for the wheel head.

With an output power of 7.5 kW, a maximum peripheral wheel speed of 2,700 m/min and a direct-drive type indexing table that enables continuous indexing at 0.0001° for the wheel head the MGX 30/100 offers increased efficiency and accuracy for OD, ID, taper and thread grinding-all of this in one clamping.

The MGX 30/100 can be equipped with up to three external grinding wheels and an optional multispindle wheel head with up to three spindles. In combination with high-frequency internal grinding spindle, this enables OD (straight/taper) and ID grinding in one-time chucking. Additionally, the turret layout can be selected from 13 patterns to meet various customer needs. A hydrostatic grinding spindle with no metallic contact allows to maintain the initial performance for a long time and provide high rigidity and rotational accuracy from low speed to high speed.

The intuitive operation of the MGX 30/100 is facilitated by the ERGOline X interface, making it user-friendly. The process software, for instance, supports programming with grinding cycles. A debug mode helps advancing the program block by block with the MPG wheel. This allows for proving programs slowly and safely before the grinding wheel touches the part.

Moreover, the MGX 30/100 contains a flexible automation system that includes different types of loaders-double hand, single hand or a through system-and a multilevel stocker for 10 pallets as well as roll type stocker for 30 pieces. Automated Mobile Robots (AMR) can be added to the automated production as can peripheral equipment, such as an air blow unit or an external measurement unit.
