For the first time, Klingspor is showcasing its products in retail stores. The Welding Supply Dealer Program offers retailers exclusive access to products such as bonded discs, flap discs, resin discs, and more. This program allows welding suppliers a differentiated way to offer Klingspor’s industrial-grade cutting, grinding, and finishing abrasives directly to walk-in customers. Klingspor’s bonded portfolio brings together cut-off wheels and grinding discs for steel, stainless steel, aluminum, nonferrous metals, cast materials and hardened steels. Designed for angle grinders, gas-powered saws, stationary machines, die grinders and small cut-off tools, the product family combines reinforced synthetic-resin construction for stable, controlled cutting with product options tailored to different materials and working conditions. The portfolio includes ultra-thin and narrow-kerf wheels for precision cutting and reduced material waste, multipurpose wheels for mixed stainless and carbon steel operations, fast, burr-free sheet-cutting options, and specialized solutions for demanding stainless, container, hard-steel, nonferrous, rail, pipe and stationary-cutting applications. Bonded grinding discs further address mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, cast steel, hardened steel, aluminum and other nonferrous grinding needs.
Klingspor’s CMT, SMT and TITAN flap disc families provide solutions for fast disc changes, aggressive grinding, long service life, blending and refined finishing. The CMT line features Klingspor’s only quick-change flap disc format, helping production users make fast, convenient disc changes while retaining grinding and blending capability, the company reported. The SMT range gives users three performance classes, SPECIAL “9,” SUPRA “6” and EXTRA “3,” for demanding, daily-use and universal steel applications, with alumina zirconia and ceramic-grain options, multiple disc geometries, and finishing constructions for satin finishing, weld work and cooler grinding.
TITAN flap discs add a trimmable design that exposes fresh abrasive to extend usable disc life, along with cooler-running performance, vibration-dampening yellow plastic backing plates and a built-in 5/8-inch-11 threaded arbor for tool-free spin-on changes. TITAN options also support high-load grinding, stainless finishing, reduced loading, controlled removal and improved surface quality.
Klingspor’s resin fibre disc portfolio provides five abrasive constructions to match material, removal rate, heat level and grinding requirements: CS 561 aluminum oxide, CS 565 alumina zirconia, CS 570 lubricated alumina zirconia, FS 966 lubricated ceramic and FS 964 ceramic. The line covers surface-contaminant removal and mild weld-seam smoothing, faster cutting and heavier stock removal, cooler grinding where heat discoloration is a concern, stainless-steel grinding, and carbon-steel heavy stock removal. Tough ceramic and alumina zirconia grain technologies provide application-specific grinding performance, while lubricated options help manage heat. Complementary backing-pad choices, including medium-hard flat, hard-ribbed and Spiral Cool configurations, help users tailor finish quality, workpiece adaptation, stability, stock-removal rate and cooling performance. Hard-ribbed pads can deliver up to 30% higher stock removal than smooth pads, while Spiral Cool pads use air-flow channels to extend disc life by 30% to 50%, according to Klingspor product information.
Klingspor has also relaunched its major welding dealer retail program as part of its FABTECH presence, reinforcing support for welding dealers and their customers.
