Bossard Debuts AI-assisted Inventory Management at Manufacturing Technology Series WEST's Smart Manufacturing Experience

Bossard announced that it will exhibit at the Manufacturing Technology Series WEST—formerly known as WESTEC—for the first time, bringing a compact, hands-on demo to the Smart Manufacturing Experience at the Anaheim Convention Center, October 7–9 (Booth 1642, Hall D). Building on nearly two centuries of fastener expertise, Bossard will show how digital assembly guidance and AI-assisted inventory management (Kanban/e-Kanban) help manufacturers improve flow, quality and traceability.

Designed for quick, practical takeaways, the assembly demo pairs Bossard IoT tools with ELAM digital work instructions software. Attendees can build a small take-away item while experiencing guided steps, tool confirmations and part verification that reduce errors, speed onboarding and digitize quality checks.

Alongside the assembly station, Bossard will demonstrate AI-assisted inventory management, often described as Kanban/e-Kanban, automated replenishment and point-of-use stock, showing how IoT-enabled bins and barcode/RFID labels trigger demand-driven refills, cut line-side shortages and reduce expedites.

“We build from fastener know-how up. The result is flow—digital standard operating procedures that travel with the build, ensuring materials are where they belong and processes can be repeated at the highest quality level, no matter the operator experience,” said Robert Molina, West Coast Regional Sales Manager at Bossard.

What Attendees Will See in the Smart Manufacturing Experience

• Digital Assembly Guidance (ELAM): Step-by-step visuals, confirmations, and traceability.

• Connected Tools: Riveting workflow with automatic data capture for quality records.

• Pick-to-Light: Faster, error-resistant part selection.

• AI-Assisted Inventory: Smart bins/labels, demand-driven replenishment, and analytics to prevent shortages and excess.

• Build-and-Take: Assemble a small item and experience verification at each step.

Beyond the demo, Bossard supports end-to-end improvements, from fastener engineering and joint analysis to inventory automation and production analytics, helping manufacturers boost throughput, quality and compliance.

Attendees may book a private consultation during WESTEC; Bossard experts will tailor a walkthrough of production hotspots, as well as inventory goals.
