C.R. Onsrud, RAMPF Group to Host Free CNC Event for Marine & Boatbuilding Industries

C.R. Onsrud, a USA manufacturer specializing in 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC Routers and CNC Machining Centers along with a full line of tooling and accessories for CNC machinery, is hosting a free, educational event specifically for the Marine and Boatbuilding industries at their headquarters in Troutman, NC on May 6 and 7.

With live demos—sponsored by C.R. Onsrud and RAMPF Group Inc. of Wixcom, MI— educational discussions and Q&A sessions, manufacturers will hear about practical CNC techniques for creating marine components, including plugs and molds, core kits, stringers, jigs and more. Topics will include material choices, advanced CAD/CAM software solutions, tooling selection and large-format CNC options for oversized parts, such as hulls and decks.

“Manufacturers can take control of their timeline and costs by bringing all their component production in house,” said Thomas Tuck, Marine Application Specialist at C.R. Onsrud. “We often hear about marine parts from third-party vendors taking almost a month to arrive at a shop with a 30% or greater markup. When you build the part yourself, you control the priority of the work, so you can make that same part in days or, depending on the part, even hours, at significantly less cost.”
