6.5" Bar Capacity Lathe
September 1, 2015
YCM Americas has launched the TC-46M with a 7.1" hollow spindle and 6.5" bar capacity using a hydraulic chuck with a draw tube which is driven by a 50 HP motor using a two speed gearbox. The TC-46M has a 12-station servo milling/turning/boring turret with a maximum of 30 HP and a milling speed of 3,000 RPM with a full C-axis.
These features along with several available bed lengths of 35.9", 65", 87" and 126" are designed to combine operations for both turning and milling for their larger parts in one set-up, stated the company.
Features of the TC-46M:
- Maximum turning diameter of 730 mm (28.7")
- Rigid structure design - Meehanite casting frame through FEM analysis and 45 degree slant bed ensure the best rigidity and eliminates casting distortion.
- Z-axis designed with extra wide distance of 620 mm (24.4") between guideways and 950 mm (37.4") for full bed width offer high rigidity.
- Fast and reliable motorized turret with hydraulic clamping turret, with 3-piece large clutch for heavy-duty cutting and 70 bar 1,015 PSI coolant pump.
- The spindle design uses extra-large bearing with excellent rigidity for heavy-duty cutting capability and a C-axis with rotary encoder for high positioning 0.001 degree to provide excellent milling accuracy.
- The big bore hole-thru is designed for the long workpiece (by boring and drilling), oil pipe (with optional dual chucks).
- Powerful 2-speed gearhead spindle has a maximum torque 3,800 Nm 2748 lbs./ft. and utilizes spindle quill.
- Gearbox with oil-cooling system for excellent thermal stability.
