New Waterjet Technology
April 1, 2014
Knuth's full 5-axis waterjets are available in both a flying bridge design and traditional gantry style. The Knuth 5-axis cutting head allows for chamfering up to 50°, coupled with endless rotation, which, according to the company, eliminates the need to repeat pierce cuts.
The Knuth 450 Cut control has a waterproof touch screen display along with a user-friendly conversational control.
All waterjet models come with a complete abrasive system, beginning with Knuth's standard pressurized hopper able to hold 2,000 lbs. of garnet. "Unlike the typical gravity fed systems, the amount of abrasives used can be regulated through the CNC control," said a company spokesperson. "This helps save costs and increase cutting efficiency."
Knuth has a wide range of systems with tables as small as 2' x 5' up to 10' x 16'. Knuth USA exclusively uses KMT water pumps, cutting heads and high-pressure lines and provides full technical support along with next-day spare parts.
Waterjet and laser cutting systems are built in the Knuth's CNC Cutting Systems facility in Neumunster, Germany.
