May 12-15, 2025: Bachmann to Exhibit Advanced Controller, Condition Monitoring, Visualization at Automate 2025

Bachmann electronic will be showcasing its innovative solutions for Industry 4.0 at this year's AUTOMATE show, Booth #8811, May 15-17, 2025 at Hunington Place, Detroit, MI. The automation specialist's range of condition monitoring products will be shown. The company's solutions are deployed in thousands of installations worldwide, each benefiting from individually customized and certified approaches that enhance machine health and operational efficiency.

Condition Monitoring

Bachmann’s Condition Monitoring System (CMS) includes a suite of hardware components and software solutions designed to monitor various aspects of machine health.

Key components include the AIC206 and AIC214 vibration sensor input modules, which are essential for detecting early signs of wear and tear. The WebLog Suite, a powerful Condition Monitoring software, provides a comprehensive approach to data management and analysis.

Additionally, the CMSSTD, a control software that runs on the CMS, supports system installation and data processing through a user-friendly web-based interface.

MX215-CPU: Versatile Gateway Controller

Another highlight of Bachmann electronic's presence at AUTOMATE will be the MX215-CPU, a new controller module that serves as an ideal gateway controller due to its versatility.

This module is suitable for a wide range of applications, from industrial applications and machine building to renewable energy and wind power and shipbuilding.

The MX215 CPU features three Ethernet ports, enabling the simultaneous connection of different networks or multiple components within a network. It supports a wide array of protocols, including Modbus TCP/UDP, IEC 60870-5-104 (as client and server), IEC 61850/GOOSE, DNP3, OPC DA (COM)/OPC UA, PROFINET IO RT, EtherCAT, and MQTT. This versatility facilitates the efficient integration of diverse devices and systems into a cohesive network.

Secure Cloud Data Management

Bachmann electronic is also introducing its secure data management in the cloud at this year's AUTOMATE.

The company's platform-independent atvise visualization solution serves as a central platform for IoT (Internet of Things) data, enabling targeted data provision from a wide range of structures and systems.

Because of container operation and a consistent client concept, atvise can now be securely used as a higher-level IoT service. A central atvise instance in the cloud acts as a data hub, providing operators with targeted, bundled data from various structures and systems.

Drive Middleware

The booth will also highlight Bachmann's drive middleware, which offers a drive-independent interface for developing applications. Additional servo drives from Festo, Yaskawa and Schneider Electric are now supported, expanding the range of compatible systems.

Drive Middleware abstracts fieldbus drives by encapsulating the drive state machine, as well as referencing routines and manufacturer-specific drive properties. This provides developers with an interface to their user program that is independent from the drive. Basic automation speed is enhanced and commissioning time reduced. Drive Middleware leads to future flexibility: Drives can be replaced at any time without adjusting the motion application.

M-Target for Simulink

Finally, in its new version V2.70, Bachmann electronic has added EtherCAT blocks to its M-Target for Simulink software.

This allows the channels of the new decentralized M100 system to be integrated directly into the application and configuration parameters to be changed at runtime if required.

The complete automation program, including the I/O connection, can be written in Simulink. This means that the program tested in the simulation also corresponds to the program generated for the control system. Subsequent changes such as manual channel mapping are no longer necessary.

This eliminates potential sources of error by design and therefore speeds up the product development process.
