of lathes with the addition of the new Summit 22-4 Precision Metal Lathe series.
"The Summit 22-4 Precision Metal Lathe Series offers a wide range of standard features with the most complete accessory package available on a lathe of such quality and affordability," said a spokesperson.
"Summit 22-4 Precision Metal Lathes are cast from heavy closed grain cast iron that is heat treated and stress relieved to provide a rigid structure with excellent damping characteristics," the spokesperson said. "The wide bed ways are heat treated and precision ground then mated to the Turcite lined carriage ways to provide years of service. The fully geared, clutched headstock is fitted with precision ground gears that are thoroughly tested for accurate tooth configuration and flank engagement to assure optimum quiet and smooth running. The one piece forged spindle, with a huge 4-1/8-inch spindle bore is fitted in tapered roller thrust bearings for accuracy and smooth running and is supported by a large diameter precision roller bearing. The headstock, feed box and carriage are all lubricated by means of geared pumps for positive oil flow.
"The accessory package on the Summit 22-4 Precision Metal Lathe Series is loaded with things that usually cost extra on other lathes. Standard on the Summit are 3- and 4-jaw chucks, follow rest, standard steady rest with roller tips, extra capacity steady rest with roller tips, complete coolant system, halogen work light, full length splash guard, 2-speed tailstock and even a taper attachment.
"Available in 60-, 80-, 120- and 160-inch centers, the Summit 22-4 Precision Metal Lathe Series is feature packed, loaded with the most requested accessories and designed to turn rings around the competition."
