"Designed for rigidity in long hours of continuous machining, Makino's new F5 VMC delivers positioning accuracies and repeatability in the microns, flexible tooling capabilities and superior control technologies for accuracy and speed in tough, challenging, complex geometries," said a Makino spokesperson. "This platform is designed for shops in need of high-performance machining at a reasonable investment.
"The F5 worktable accommodates part sizes up to 39.4 x 19.7 x 17.7 inches with a maximum payload of 1,432 lbs. The machine's X, Y and Z axis travels extend to 35.4, 19.7, 17.7 inches respectively. Its 20,000 RPM, HSK-63A spindle incorporates Makino's patented core-cooling, under-race and jacket spindle temperature control system for stable roughing operations and precision machining of small details and fine features using small tools at high RPM. A standard 30-tool magazine enables precision machining through long hours of continuous operation, utilizing an array of tooling." |
