"Hwacheon Machinery has redefined the MC market by using Hwacheon's die mold building experience and incorporated job shop technology to create the VESTA, a hybrid machining center product line that is designed to deliver high quality, high speed, tight tolerances and fine finishes at a job shop price," said a company spokesperson.
"The VESTA vertical machining center series, which include both a boxed and roller guide way series, are some of the strongest and most rigid castings in its class, which include high RPM and heavy torque variations," the spokesperson said. "A special way lube and coolant separation system has been designed into the casting structure to prevent contamination causing polluting and offensive odors.
"Premium programming is standard on the VESTAS. Hwacheon's Efficient Contour Control (HECC) is used for, medium and precise cutting operations according to priority of each individual operation.
"Tool breakage can be detected at very sensitive levels, saving valuable machining time, with Hwacheon's Tool Load Detection (HTLD) which constantly monitors the state of the tool load and tool wear based on set parameters in the machine control.
"The feed rate velocity will adjust automatically with Hwacheon's OPTIMA Tool Load Detection (OPTIMA-HTLD). This greatly increases tool life, by directly monitoring the load generated on the spindle from variations in the cutting cycle.
"Sensors located on the VESTA's spindle and machine frame allow the Hwacheon Spindle Displacement Control (HSDC) to proactively control the spindle temperature through a proven set of algorithms' that will increase or decrease the oil flow temperature of the JET lubrication system built into the spindle coolant jacket.

"The VESTAS 850B (34 inch X / 24 inch Y / 24 inch Z) & VESTAS 1050B (42 inch X / 24 inch Y / 24 inch Z) are rigid 50 taper manufacturing platforms. Wide slide surfaces on all axes are designed to help ensure low friction, precise positioning and repeatable accuracy. Standard spindle speeds of up to 10,000 RPM (gear driven) allow for 50 taper machining in any type of material. A table load capacity up to 2,200 lbs provides ample loading capacity. Powered by a 25 HP main spindle motor, the spindle produces powerful low-end torque as well as the necessary speed for high speed machining.
"The VESTAS 660 (26 inch X/17 inch Y/16 inch Z) & VESTAS 1000 (40 inch X/22 inch Y/17 inch Z) are 40 taper roller guide way, vertical machining systems with high horse power and heavy torque. The direct drive 15 (20 HP option) Fanuc spindle motor can minimize power loss, decrease vibration and increase cutting efficiency. All models come standard with coolant through the spindle.
"VESTAS 610D features user friendly controls and ergonomic loading and unloading. The 20 HP brushless direct drive AC spindle motor, integral to the spindle, is engineered for heavy duty machining corresponding to the rigid machine base. The spindle motor is mounted to the spindle with a direct drive coupling, assuring constant torque and HP throughout the cutting process. A special heat absorption jacket inside the spindle removes the heat generated in cutting. With pallet index times of six seconds and rapids up to 945 IPM, this MC will be very productive for the most demanding work environments."
