Hardinge Inc. announces the company's product highlights for IMTS 2010.
"The all new Hardinge T 42 SUPER-PRECISION Turning centers are designed for high-precision, high-performance turning," said a company spokesperson. "The T-42 machine is designed to exceed expectations and is suitable for two-axis high precision machining or complex multi-tasking operations that require a high level of precision, delicate part handling and parts made complete in a single setup. High-performance and SUPER-PRECISION high productivity packages are available to choose from with features that include but are not limited to: live tooling with C-axis, sub spindle, Y-axis, main spindle parts catcher and our unique sub spindle parts catcher designed for removing delicate high precision parts with critical surface finish requirements without damage to the part."
"The T-42 is designed to allow customers to finish a part in one complete set up. This reduces labor cost, multiple machine setups and human intervention leading to higher return on investment," said James Langa, Vice President, Engineering and Global Sourcing, Hardinge Inc.
The Bridgeport GX-1000 OSP Vertical Machining Center features the Okuma THINC-OSP Control. "The single processor Okuma OSP control was built with ease of use in mind on an operator-friendly platform," said the spokesperson. "Standard features on the Open Architecture PC-based THINC control include Microsoft Windows Operation System, 512 MB DDR RAM, large file handling for 'Drip Feed' applications, two open USB ports on the control for 'plug and play' devices and data transfer and a robust 40 GB hard drive. This machine was developed for the US Market and is a welcomed addition to the Bridgeport GX family."
"The GX 1000 equipped with the THINC-OSP control gives Bridgeport a proven platform that has been accepted in the market for years. We are excited that this type of conversational control opens up new opportunities for previous Bridgeport customers and a familiar control for many of our current customers," said Pete Haley, Gosiger Inc.
The KELLENBERGER Kel-Vera High-Precision Cylindrical Grinding Machine will feature a workhead with direct drive. With the high torque drive users can process heavy chuck parts. The Kel-Vera is a compact machine that can be used for the grinding components with length of up to 400 mm. The hydrostatic guideways provide the basis for higher performance and dynamics in the X- and Z-axes.
The Jones & Shipman Suprema 650 Easy Cylindrical Grinder, from the newly acquired Jones & Shipman group, features the Jones & Shipman Easy "Self-Teach" Software Suite. The touch screen control system utilizes the company's fast-to-set "Easy" software suite. This multi-axis control system is designed to enable an inexperienced operator to progress from a manual single diameter application to linked cycle/multi-diameter single or batch operations.
