"Celebrating a strong finish in 2009 and an extra strong showing through the first six months of 2010, Doosan is moving its IMTS exhibit to an up-front position in McCormick's South Hall," said a company spokesperson. "It's a special position for a special show, one that will see Doosan demonstrate 21 machines, nine of which are new, having never before been seen at a machine tool show."
Doosan will demonstrate a broad
selection of turning centers, including
multi-function mill turns, dual turret and four-axis turning centers, plus
horizontal and vertical machining centers. In all, there will be 13
turning centers including five that are new plus one, a vertical turning
center, that will be unveiled for the first time on the opening day of the
show. Highlighting
the Doosan exhibit will be the new Puma 2100 and 2600, a pair of high
performance turning centers with wider box ways, more power along the
Y-axis and the ability to produce a wider range of parts than their Doosan
predecessors, according to the company. |

Also planned for demonstration are three horizontal machining centers and five verticals, of which three machines are new. Among the new are the VC630-5AX, a simultaneous 5-axis vertical turning center; the first of a new family of high rigidity Mynx verticals and the 14,000 RPM HP5100 horizontal machining center coupled to a linear pallet system.
In addition, Doosan will display two race cars from the Joe Gibbs stable of NASCAR racers, a motorcross motorcycle built by Joe Gibbs Racing and, for a few hours, racecar driver Denny Hamlin will be available to sign autographs and answer questions from racing enthusiasts.
