Check-Mate Industries Expands to Southwest Georgia

Check-Mate Industries, a manufacturer of handgun and rifle magazines, is growing with an expansion to southwest Georgia that will create hundreds of new jobs.

"Check-Mate is proud to be the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the world's finest rifle and handgun manufacturers," said President Joe DeBello. "In addition to serving the firearms industry, we are also a prime contractor for the U.S. military. We produce a broad range of firearms components beyond magazines, as well as serving the needs of top medical device manufacturers, communications and aerospace and defense companies.

"We believe Check-Mate's success is due in large part to our commitment to precision. Quality is what our customers rely on. We work to ensure that everything we produce is crafted to the highest standards and we know that is why manufacturers rely on us year after year."

Check-Mate Industries' products are designed, developed and manufactured in the U.S. Since 1972, the company has operated as a tool & die, stampings and assemblies manufacturer.

From aerospace and automotive to hardware and communications, Check-Mate's state-of-the-art tool room has the capability to handle just about any project. However, they are best known for life-saving medical and firearms components. These components include handgun and rifle magazines, trigger bars, receivers, disconnects, sears, sear springs, blank firing attachments, sight assemblies, M60 cover assembly, feed trays and rifle dust covers. The company's services include tool & die design and fabrication, metal stamping up to 330 tons, fine blanking, prototyping, CNC machining, wire EDM, assembly, isotropic surface finishing, deburring, heat treating, finishing and packaging.

The company's expansion will create 230 jobs and take place over a five-year period.

Company Chairman and CEO Regina Vieweg counts a quality workforce among the factors that attracted Check-Mate to the state. "Georgia has great workforce training programs in place. We resonated with the pro-business environment. We believe the state provides a great foundation for Check-Mate's growth."
