On/Off Workholding Magnets

The family of On/Off magnetic welding squares and workholding jig magnets from Master Magnetics (the Magnet Source) are designed to give welders the ability to decrease their prep time without sacrificing holding accuracy and reliability.

Magnetic Welding Squares

Three On/Off magnetic welding squares provide additional flexibility during pre- and post- welding by allowing the user to determine when to engage the magnet.

"Welding magnets are one of the most useful devices we offer," said Jennifer Brown, Chief Operating Officer at Master Magnetics. "We are happy to provide an option that lets welders perform quality work, safely and accurately."

Just place these powerful neodymium on/off magnets on two mating steel surfaces to accurately position material for welding. A simple push of the handle allows users to turn the handle to the "on" position and secure for working. A reverse turn disengages the magnet and allows for safe storage.

The magnets, which come with pre-tapped holes on all sides for versatile mounting, work on both flat and round stock.

Although not used for lifting, the pull of these magnets ranges between 150 and 1,000 lbs. on flat stock.

Workholding Jig Magnets

As a safe solution for positioning and fixturing, four additional On/Off magnets provide a smaller and practical method of workholding.

Like their larger welding magnet counter parts, they are constructed with rare earth neodymium magnets. These workholding magnets provide enhanced holding power coupled with strong sheer strength to help prevent side-to-side movement. Permanent magnets do not require an external power source.

Workholding jig magnets securely mount to any ferrous table saw, fence or other steel surface with the twist of a knob. Just use with standard 3/4" material, drill a hole with a Forstner bit and drop in the On/Off workholding magnet to create custom jigs and fixtures.

The magnets are available in four sizes, ranging from 80 to 150 lbs. pull. Most projects require two magnets.
