Multi-Position, Direct Drive Belt Grinder



The model BG248 from Kalamazoo Industries is a 2" x 48" belt grinder that can be position at any point from vertical to horizontal. The high 7,200 SFPM belt speed enables fast metal removal with little heat buildup. The BG248 was originally designed to meet the sanding and grinding needs of a customer's application. The BG248 is now standard and included in Kalamazoo's product line.

The BG248 belt grinder features a 2" W x 8" H work space that allows for full work movement from left to right, and a removable platen and work table so one may slack belt grind and platen grind. As with all Kalamazoo Industries grinders, one may also grind on the contact wheel as well with the BG248.

This unit has spring loaded belt tension, quick belt change, an 8" x 2" serrated 70 duro contact wheel, and a 1/2 HP 1 PH direct drive motor available in 110 V or 220 V (specify at time of order). The grinder is also available with or without a stand. The part number for the unit that comes with a stand is BG248S.

Suitable applications for the BG248 include: deburring, general parts clean up, polishing, descaling, beveling edges and round over ends.

The model BG248 belt grinder will fit in any size shop large or small and will accommodate any 2" x 48" belt so one may get the desired finish.
