RPM Innovations, Inc. Moves to State-of-the-Art Facility

RPM Innovations, Inc. (RPMI), which specializes in the advancement of Laser Deposition Technology (LDT) capabilities, has announced its relocation into a new state-of-the-art 50,000 sq. ft. facility.

The facility features the necessary infrastructure to meet the security requirements associated with commercial, aerospace and defense applications. It also provides the necessary space to nearly triple the company's current capacity in LDT production services and in manufacturing some of the industry's largest LDT systems.

President Robert Mudge said, "First, I must say thank you to our customers for challenging RPMI and giving us the opportunity to employ LDT in solving your manufacturing and repair problems. We are very excited and proud of this new facility, as it provides RPMI with the space and tools necessary to offer the highest quality and most cost-effective solutions available in the additive manufacturing (AM) world."

For nearly 15 years, RPMI has provided specialized services in powder-fed LDT. LDT is utilized for manufacturing freeform parts directly from computer aided design (CAD) models, repairing parts previously considered non-repairable and fabricating critical features on parts or forgings.

RPMI's continuing creative innovations in LDT has grown the production services portion of the business to five RPMI LDT systems running nearly 24/7. Components associated with turbine engines, ducting, hypersonics, satellites, rocket engines, aero structures, oil/gas processing, chemical processing and power generation are typical applications. RPMI is AS9100 and ISO 9001:2008 certified and also ITAR registered in order to support nearly any application, from a one off part to production.

The space for additional machines will allow RPMI to maintain machine availability for quick turnaround to meet customer's delivery requirements.

In addition to the production services, RPMI offers a complete line of CE registered LDT systems, which include a Model 222, a Model 535 and a Model 557 (work envelope of 5' X-axis, 5' Y-axis, and 7' Z-axis), which employ up to 4 kW fiber lasers.
