Kitagawa NorthTech Achieves ISO 9001:2015 and ITAR Certification

Kitagawa NorthTech, Inc. has recently received ISO 9001:2015 and International Traffic in Arms Regulation certification (ITAR).

By achieving both ISO 9001-2015 and ITAR certification and compliance, Kitagawa NorthTech demonstrates its expanding capabilities and commitment to provide enhanced workholding products and services that meet customer satisfaction, manufacturing specifications and regulatory requirements.

The ISO certification process includes implementing the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and then completing a successful registrar's audit confirming the organization meets those requirements. The company has held ISO 9001 certification since 2008 and recently has transitioned from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015. "Achieving ISO 9001:2015 standard represents Kitagawa NorthTech's commitment to quality management and customer satisfaction for our metalworking and machine tool customers," said a company spokesperson.

"The company is continually striving to improve manufacturing and quality management processes and quality management systems (QMS) for its offering of chucks, workholding equipment and services," added the spokesperson. Kitagawa NorthTech also implements quality management processes and practices for its custom workholding engineering and repair, rebuild and preventative maintenance services for hydraulic cylinders, rotary tables and chucks.

Kitagawa NorthTech obtained ITAR certification for supplying its offering of chucks, workholding products and services to the aerospace and defense industries. The U.S. Government requires all manufacturers, exporters and brokers of defense articles, defense services or related technical data to be compliant with ITAR certification and to be also registered with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). Kitagawa NorthTech has recently certified for ITAR compliance and certification. With ITAR certification, the company is better positioned to take advantage of the opportunities for chucks, workholding equipment and services in metalworking applications within aerospace, military and defense industries.
