Machine Tool Manufacturer Celebrates 70th Anniversary

Dr. Ing. Stefan Hansch, CEO, EMCO Group

The EMCO Group, or EMCO, is one of Europe's machine tool manufacturers providing multi-functional metalcutting machine tools. Across its 70 years, the Austrian machine builder has expanded its portfolio from a standard machine manufacturer to a turn-key solution provider delivering over 1,200 machines annually.

EMCO Group engineers a range of machine tools from conventional turning and milling machines to CNC turning centers and vertical machining centers (VMCs) as well as fully automated manufacturing cells and high-speed milling and drilling centers. "Using our turn-key solutions, our customers are able to implement highly complex manufacturing processes at a reasonable price quickly and efficiently," said Dr. Stefan Hansch, Managing Director of the EMCO Group.

The machines are used in mold making, in the automotive industry or in general engineering to produce high-volume components such as wind turbine main shafts, hydraulic cylinders for construction machines, ship propellers or drill heads for oil production.

"Today, with production sites in Austria, Italy, Russia and Germany, the EMCO Group ranks among Europe's leading machine tool manufacturers," said a company spokesperson. Besides EMCO and EMCO MECOF, the Italian EMCO FAMUP adds a complete line of production machines for the machining industry including the Maxxmill 400 and 500 machines for the 5-axis machining of workpieces. EMCO MAGDEBURG is also part of the EMCO Group.

"All machines of the EMCO Group are designed according to EMCO's maxim `Design to Cost.' All development and production take place in Europe, and EMCO production companies are required to implement the highest standards of quality, production and efficiency. We cooperate to develop our intelligent production solutions in line with our principle Made in the Heart of Europe," said Hansch.

"The development of tailor-made solutions in close cooperation with the customers and the commitment to deliver European high-quality technology at a competitive price are hallmarks of the EMCO brand," added Hansch.
