Niles-Simmons-Hegenscheidt (NSH) has named Marcus Girgis to General Manager of the Sterling Heights, MI, operations.

Girgis served as a key member of the sales and applications team supporting the North American markets for the past 13 years. "Marcus' extensive range of knowledge in the automotive, transportation and aerospace markets have prepared him well to lead the application focused teams at NSH," said a company spokesperson. For 10 years prior to joining the NSH Group, Girgis was Project Manager for a Tier 1 automotive machine tool company and an assembly machine manufacturer. He received his engineering degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada.

William Archer, North America Sales Manager for the Niles-Simmons turn mill product line, will continue to focus lead sales efforts for the aerospace, power generation and industrial markets. The Niles-Simmons multifunctional MC series machines are based on the slantbed lathe design that allows modular expansion to accommodate complex workpieces to be completely machined in one set-up.

The Sterling Heights, MI, plant is part of the NSH Group, which has manufacturing factories focused on key product lines. Hegenscheidt and Simmons primarily produce machine tools for railway wheel set maintenance and production, while Niles-Simmons is engaged in not only railway but also automotive, aerospace and marine as well as other industrial sectors.

The NSH Group (Niles-Simmons-Hegenscheidt) has manufacturing facilities in Germany (Chemnitz and Erkelenz), USA (Albany, NY, and Sterling Heights, MI) and China.
