Methods Machine Tools to Exhibit at Automate 2017

Methods Machine Tools, Inc. will be exhibiting at Automate 2017, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, April 3 - 6, 2017, at Booth #1810. Methods' Automation Specialists will be demonstrating post-processing applications including a FANUC RoboDrill JobShop Cell with 3-D vision for bin picking and a full deburring cell using FANUC robots to deburr and wash parts. Methods will also be demonstrating an automated laser marker that uses a FANUC robot to position and laser mark parts - ideal for automating product identification.

In addition, Methods Machine Tools' National Automation Manager John Lucier will present a conference session at the Automate Fundamentals Seminar, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM, titled, "A Beginners Guide to Robot Automation."

Lucier's 60-minute session will discuss the prevalence of robots in today's manufacturing world and address what to consider when applying industrial robot automation. The presentation will focus on the basic knowledge of industrial robots, cell designs using robots, and show how easy it is to actually program an industrial robot. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

"The session is for anyone, from a small job shop to a large industrial manufacturer that is considering industrial robot automation," said Lucier.

Lucier has worked within the machine tool industry for over 30 years, specializing in machine tool service, applications, technical selling and product and application management. He has been with Methods Machine Tools for over 20 years. For the last 11 years he has led the automation team, focusing on developing automated technology for the manufacturing industry.

To meet the aggressively growing demand for automation and robotics in manufacturing, Methods Machine Tools is expanding its automation capabilities, launching a new Automation and Integration Center in its Charlotte, NC, facility. The center, slated to open this spring, and already ramping up, is staffed by systems integration engineers and will have a full range of equipment and capabilities from customer consultation to building cells and performing run-offs. The center will expand Methods' existing North American automation program and provide state-of-the-art automation solutions for customers throughout the U.S.

Automate 2017 is devoted to automation industry trends, leading-edge technology and business innovation. More information is available at: www.automateshow.com.
