Lex South Steel Plant in Houston Opens Doors

Lex Holding Co. (The Lex Group), a distributor of flat rolled steel products for a variety of industries, has announced the opening of its newest location, Lex South, located in Houston, TX. With its additional Lex West and Lex Central facilities serving the Central and Western regions of the U.S., this most recent location in the south allows the company to provide its products and services throughout the continental United States, Mexico and beyond via the ports in Houston.

With multi-generational experience in the metals and logistics industries, Lex South is projected to produce up to 15,000 tons of flat rolled steel per month, offering cold and hot rolled, coated, hot rolled pickled and oiled, stainless and aluminized steel with thickness ranges of .022" - .375". These products help serve manufacturers in the automotive, office furniture, metal building, light duty shelving, appliance and construction industries.

"The Lex Group is pleased to announce our newest expansion into the Houston area, one of the fastest growing areas in the U.S. with global access via the ports in the Gulf of Mexico," said Paul Douglass, Chief Operating Officer at the Lex Group. "We look forward to helping the local economy as well as providing our customers both old and new increased capacity without sacrificing the quality and service for which the Lex Group is known."

The company added this newest facility as a logical extension of the Lex Group of companies. This strategy allows the company to leverage its existing supply and customer base to build additional business into a growing region of the domestic steel market.
