High Resolution, Fine Feature Measurement

"For manufacturing quality control, the best performing measurement system is one that is designed with a specific task or purpose in mind," said a RAM Optical Instrumentation spokesperson. "While video measurement systems are intended to be multi-functional, it is important to optimize key performance factors to tailor the system to the typical range of parts and features being measured. This is especially true for measurement of parts with small feature sizes that demand tight tolerances and higher measurement accuracy."

QVI SparkMVP systems offered by RAM are designed to fulfill the unique requirements posed by measurement of fine features. "SparkMVP systems combine robust XY motion control and newly redesigned, reliable Z-axis transport with QVI's high resolution fixed lens optical system for repeatable precision measurements," said the spokesperson. The QVI fixed lens optical system has been specifically designed to suit the distinctive conditions required for measurement of small parts and features. With a variety of interchangeable objective lenses from which to choose, SparkMVP allows the flexibility to configure the magnification, working distance and depth of field for each measurement application. Specifically, SparkMVP makes it simple for users to obtain accurate measurements on parts that require a high magnification range and smaller depth of field, providing focus sensitivity and sharper images.

In addition, SparkMVP offers an optional through-the-lens laser with no offset between the laser and optical paths, reducing stage motion and providing overall faster measurements. Optional focus grid projector and touch probe extend SparkMVP's capabilities to a broad range of applications.

"With the integration of QVI Measure-X metrology software, SparkMVP fixed lens systems provide high accuracy and precision for complex micro manufacturing applications with instantaneous digital zoom changes and complete digital readouts," said the spokesperson.
